In Philadelphia playwright Alex Dremann’s The :nv:s:ble Play, Existential Publishing Co. workers are literally vanishing. And really, despite being a little far-out, the concept’s not so far-off. “I’ve definitely felt invisible in lots of situations,” Dremann says, citing 12 years of telecommuting. “One of the inspirations for this play was to explore how much of that is my own doing.” For new-play specialists Philadelphia Theatre Workshop, the play may actually have the opposite effect: to gain visibility in a sea of small companies.
