If Hello Kitty and Ryan Seacrest had a one-night stand, their child might be the Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational. This two-day, all-Asian celebration offers fans of Eastern pop culture the chance to participate in their hobbies on a grand scale. Local karaoke judges include costume designer Alicia Lugo; former So You Think You Can Dance contestant (and Alicia's sister) Carmen Lugo; and Jeffrey Branch, the go-to scholar on Japanese retro duo Pink Ladies. The winners of the invitational will receive anime-themed prizes. If singing isn't your thing, you can play video games like Halo and Super Mario Bros. , break out your glow sticks during Saturday's all-ages rave, or break open your piggy bank to buy anime paraphernalia. Attendees will ideally do all of the above in costume. "Almost everyone dresses up," says founder Damien Christopher. "Even I get in on the act and dress up in drag."

Sat.-Sun., Nov. 28-29, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., free, Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St., takii.pdnmz.com.
