The 941 Theater needs to be saved — and unlike your filthy soul, it could be with about $12,000. (Unfortunately, heaven doesn't accept Catholic Church-backed indulgences anymore.) The venue, which was known for offering crazy-low prices to emerging artists and fans, was shut down by Licenses & Inspections last month, and lacks the funds to pay off the fines and other operating costs needed to reopen. Which is an awful shame. "There's no other venue in the city that serves independent filmmakers," says organizer Julie Raboczi. Do your part to get it back up and running by attending this benefit, where you can pick up goods from Fishtown Airways' Artist Market and Co-op, embroidered duds by Seam Poets (pictured), and reconstructed vintage jewelry by Pinupsquirrel. You can also listen to hometown bands Spinning Leaves, Toy Soldier and TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb. Don't miss 941 Theater's table — it'll be the one with a bake sale and raffle. Aw.Sat., Dec. 5, noon-7 p.m., $2, 2424 Studios, 2424 E. York St., 215-423-1800, 2424studios.com.
