The Cohoquinoque Creek that once ran past Fishtown is now an icky sewer, yet a local group of grads from the Tyler School of Art have merrily adopted its name. In celebration of their neighborhood's comeuppance, the Cohoquinoque Crew have created the first-ever Rock Bass Rainbow Fest — a two-day fashion, art, music and craft extravaganza. Several local artists, including funky tee-maker Greg Labold and girly designer Nicole Rae Styer (whose shirt is pictured), will show off their digs at Friday's fashion show, while bands Powerslam Overdrive, My Friends and Band Name perform. Saturday is all about shopping, with vendors like Volta Soap, Vulcan Glassworks and Odd Owl selling their wares. "We've got a nice variety of goods and talent, from glass and jewelry to ceramics, lamps, clothing, bookmakers and soaps," says co-founder Brooke Somers. "Don't let the odd festival name fool you. If you're looking for a rainbow-colored rock bass, you'll have to look elsewhere."
