If you're into performance that's informal, experimental and in-progress, then you'll appreciate Studio 34's StudioSeries, where no-frills productions are all about giving new ideas a whirl. "It's young emerging artists who are trying to establish their own aesthetic ... working outside the box," says Meg Foley, who participates in this Saturday's "Eclectic" program with an excerpt from cookie (pictured), described as a dance that "revolves around itself." Foley and other featured artists — this month including Emily Wexler, Zornitsa Styoanova, React/Dance (Kristin Shahverdian/Jacelyn Biondo), Megan Bridge/Peter Price, Dan Blackberg/Nick Millevoi and Tim Albro — aim for alternative ways to present their work. So Studio 34, which doubles as a yoga/Pilates studio, hosts monthly dance parties and even brings folks together for community potluck meals, is an ideal locale to bring that eclecticism to life.
