We just got sucked into the Gosselin vortex, the douchebaggery of it all.
You know it's a silly world and the end of a douchebag decade when a D-list celebrity takes up head space and Trumps nearly all this holiday season. The Donald is the king of our D list if you think about his entrée into Philly condo-ism. He's our seventh ring of hell. Hey, I'm not certain that the D list is so lousy; it's a mindless distraction that Kathy Griffin does fine by. And heck, it ain't the E list. But a distraction it is and just when you thought you could send the year off with a sense of serenity or spiritualism: TV characters buy your fave old-man Old City watering hole (Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Mac and Sweet Dee snagged Skinner's). Boxing promoter Damon Feldman becomes national news for kissing a woman (Hailey Glassman) that he had ref a bout of his at the Philadelphia Airport Ramada. (See the Clog, 12/22.) Worse: She just happens to be the monster-overlord-of-the-D-list Jon Gosselin's girl. Or was? Who knows? Do you believe they're still living together post-Kate/post-TLC, or that he's stalking her as she's claimed, or that his recent (non-televised) episode of shooting off a .38 pistol on his property in Wernersville had something to do with Hailey's supposed infatuation with Feldman? Whoa, see how that happened? We just got sucked into the Gosselin vortex, the douchebaggery of it all, the minutiae of lives so near yet not far away enough. Two years of never mentioning the cursed nobodiness of Kade, and I go and upset a few of the holiest holidays by going down the Gosselin sinkhole. God and Jesus forgive me. I can't imagine that Philly's 2010 D list'll get better. What's looming? Kato Kaelin celebrity boxing match (Jan. 19 at that same Ramada). Oh yeah, and a third Jackass movie (in 3-D yet) from West Chester's Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville and Spike Jonze occurs in '10. I'll have to drink away my sorrows at Sweet Dee's. Merry Christmas.

► Don't know how you feel about holiday porn, but TLA's T&A blog POPPORN.com has its next flick How To Be a Ladies' Man on pre-order at TLAraw.com. Ho and ho again. Plus Ladies Man director Spock Buckton, who plays himself in TLA's The Guide to Making Fuck, is nominated for a 2010 AVN Award for Best Non-Sex Role. Such a D list.
