It's time to give back, and I'm not talking the shlocky earrings your momma left you under the Xmas tree. On the day after Christmas (when you're inevitably feeling like Scrooge post-ghosting), you can volunteer for Greater Philadelphia Cares' Neighborhoods in Action, which seeks to revitalize and restore blighted communities. But you ought not stop there. "Right now people are in the spirit of the season," says Frankie Lancos, GPC's interim executive director. "It's right after Christmas that volunteering drops off, and we need to actively recruit people."
