With as much creativity and beer that flows in this city, you'd think a local would have made at least one contribution to the Pabst Blue Ribbon artwork that decorates our train stations and alleyways. Sadly, Daniel "Gravy" Thomas, the local marketer for PBR, says that isn't the case. Now in its fourth year, PBR's national art contest has never yielded a winner from Philly, even though we're one of the corporation's largest distribution cities. To encourage more local participation, he's organized an art viewing and dance party, where anyone can submit their best PBR-inspired work for a prize and a chance to have their piece displayed around the country. Gravy says any medium is acceptable, whether it's poetry, painting, drawing or sculpture. So crack a can and get workin'.
