Coal is deeply embedded in the history and economy of the people of the Appalachian Mountains, but many of the decisions about coal mining fall to the regional EPA office here in Philadelphia. The documentary Coal Country is a sweeping portrayal of mining's repercussions, featuring the perspectives of both coal miners and environmental activists in the region. Philly Rising Tide sponsors the screening of this challenging film and members will lead an informal discussion about the true meaning of "clean coal" afterward. Coal Country,
