He already monopolizes your restaurant dreams — now Jose Garces is poised to dominate your every dry good-related thought! Garces Trading Company is the Iron Chef's foray into the gourmet market game. Bread, charcuterie, soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and pizza join items like imported olive oils and beans from Garces' coffee line. A PLCB-leased wine boutique carries more than 200 wine and spirit options. The "Plats du Jour" lineup features hearty mom-type classics for two (lasagna, coq au vin) that change daily.

Hoof+Fin
617 S. Third St., 215-925-3070.

Chef Lucas Manteca, who does Quahog's and Sea Salt down the Shore, has introduced this rustic BYO in the space that was Gayle. There are extensive raw bar, appetizer and entrée sections here, but the most interesting aspect of the menu is the "From the Grill" portion, which allows diners to mix and match meat/seafood mains (bone-in short ribs, lamb shoulder, scallops, tuna steak) with starches and veggies (Old Bay fries, parsnip purée). They're open for dinner every day but Tuesday, with lunch and brunch on the way.

Healthy Bites ToGo
2521 Christian St., 215-259-TOGO, healthybitesdelivery.com.

Katie Cavuto Boyle's Healthy Bites meal-delivery service has grown out of its Philly Kitchen Share beginnings and into this storefront, a fresh/local market, café, Lancaster Farm Fresh CSA pickup spot and cooking-class venue. To go: a soup/sandwich lineup, coffee and tea, eats like market frittata and a selection of pre-prepared fare. For the shopper: local produce, dairy, fish and meat, plus specialty snacks like Zahav hummus and fresh Severino pasta. Cavuto Boyle will host classes at the market two to three times a month. Hours: Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sun., 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

LITTLE VITTLES

>> Zavino (112 S. 13th St., 215-732-2400, zavino.com) finally has its liquor license. Wine by the glass ranges from $6 to $12, and bottles from $25 to $57; four beers on tap, with bottles, too.
