The 21st annual Celebration of African Cultures meshes ancient traditions with contemporary culture, from Capoeira to hip-hop. Designed to appeal to history buffs and young children alike, the event features performances by Kenny J, Chosen Dance Group and the Women's Sekere Ensemble. "The lineup this year has a lot to do with dancing and movement," says event coordinator Tena Thomason. Attendees can learn different dance styles, make African-inspired masks, even pet a lion pelt. Oh my!
