shakespeare, remixed
For a simultaneously schizophrenic and appetizing play, the five-company production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar fits the bill. The Roman ruler is interpreted differently each act, through puppets, circus arts and experimental music by visiting troupes and locals like Fence Kitchen (pictured) and Green Chair Dance Group. "When someone puts their all into something that's 20 minutes long, it's going to be amazing," says co-producer Morgan Andrews. Adding to delectability, local bakers will serve dessert with each act. Don your finest garb and a red carnation to meet at the Vine Street stop on the Broad Street line, where you'll be whisked off to a secret theater. Just watch out for any backstabbers.
