Denice Witkowski, aka Vitamin D, knows what it takes to put female musicians in the spotlight. "Women have a lot of different energy than men," says Witkowski. As director and president of Vitamin D Productions, Witkowski is in her 11th year of producing Womyn's Fest, which she began as a place where women could showcase their talents rather than fade behind their male counterparts. Musical guests include folkers Victoria and the Spaeth Cadets, dance and poetry from Dragoness, southern fried rockers Dolly Trolly and a surprise, unlisted band. "They're a very colorful, fun dance band," says Witkowski, "and they've played Womyn's Fest before." Time to do a little research.
