It's difficult to achieve a more laid-back, artistic atmosphere than Bell 3 Figure Drawing, which is exactly the point. Each week, the for-anyone studio time is held in an apartment, with NPR's Radio Lab playing and no instructor to criticize your work. It's just you, your fellow artistes and the model. "I encourage people to attend for the peace that comes with drawing," says Ben Simon, a Bell 3 co-founder along with two other former art students. People of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend; just bring needed materials and $5 to feed the models (and maybe a bottle of wine for yourself). R.S.V.P. to bellthreedrawing@gmail.com.
