What a difference a few decades can make: Lisa Kraus, Eva Kraczag and Vicky Shick, who danced together in Trisha Brown's renowned NYC troupe in the '70s, reunite to perform a collaborative world première, Red Thread. Part of the annual Philadelphia Dance Projects, the piece will explore the personal and professional journeys of the three women, now in their 50s. Meanwhile, three younger experimenters — Meg Foley, Gabrielle Revlock and Michele Tantoco — represent current dance movement. It's "the relationships between generations of dancers" that Red Thread is concerned with, says Kraus. "These dancers are younger versions of us." As for the symbol itself? "We identify red thread as an umbilical cord connecting generations."
