Brenna Geffers recognizes the anxiety Samuel Beckett reveals in his 1953 existential play Waiting for Godot, but the EgoPo director isn't sweating the task of staging modern theater's most revered text. "After graduate school and years reading about the piece and debating it and talking in hushed tones about the purity of Beckett's work and the sacredness of his words," she confesses, "I still feel most in touch with the play when I find the joy in it." Her younger-than-traditional cast, led by Ross Beschler and Robert DaPonte, share Geffers' love for the play. They and Dan Soule's Edward Gorey-inspired set promise that this Godot will explore serious questions about "what are we doing here, why are we doing it?"
