It's a no-brainer: Peter Brötzman and Hamid Drake haven't toured together in nearly a decade, so two of the most expansive vocabularies in improvised music are bound to have plenty to talk about. The burly German who breathes through his sax like Godzilla facing down a battalion and the towering Chicago percussionist who seems to sprout tentacles behind his kit don't seem, on the surface, to have much in common, but in tandem they seem to draw from a bottomless well of invention. They'll share the bill with Congs for Brums, the solo project of Good for Cows drummer Ches Smith.
