[ why can't us? ]
Todd Zolecki, the former voice of the Phillies for our crosstown version of the Mets (the Inquirer) and current Phils' scribe at mlb.com, is sporting his new bonafides as a recently published author. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Philadelphia Phillies: Heart-Pounding, Jaw-Dropping and Gut-Wrenching Moments from Philadelphia Phillies History (Triumph Books), published in March, rummages through the pinstripes, road grays and baby blues to get at the skeletons in the Phillies' lockers. Safe bet: Any book with the words "the ugly" and "Phillies" in the title could have at least two chapters on the saga that has been watching Placido Polanco's giant head squeeze into the red cap over the years.
