If you're in the Italian Market on Sunday, check out Laura Deutch's van. Before you start thinking "Don't come a-knockin'," Deutch's car is otherwise known as the mobile media studio for Messages in Motion. Sponsored by local video collective Termite TV, Messages in Motion aims to help Philadelphians quickly produce and exhibit their own short documentary videos. Deutch has spent the past year doing just that, taking the van to various neighborhoods and making videos with kids and community groups (you can see some on MiM's website). But Deutch is ready to take the project public. You'll be able to tour the van, which uses solar paneling to power its video production equipment, and maybe even make your own video.

Sun., May 23, 1-5 p.m., free, Ninth and Montrose streets, messagesinmotion.com, 484-201-6063.

Comments

Update: if it's raining, the party's moving to 8th and Montrose where there is a covered area. So come on out - rain or shine!
