For people who like their music easy to take in but tough to make out — stuff that sounds pretty and pretty scary, spooky and blissful, hissing and soaring — Portland's Liz Harris pushes the right buttons. And tweaks the knobs, strums the ghost-guitar and sings the happy séance vocals. Grouper is not for everybody on this side of the great beyond, but I hear they're going nuts for it over in purgatory.
