Gusti d'Italia with Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix

Join world-renowned chef Jean-Marie Lacroix at the Constitution Center next Thursday for a cooking demonstration and small-plate tasting of Italian cuisine. The event, which was organized in conjunction with the center's "Ancient Rome & America" exhibition (which runs through Aug. 1), will feature dishes such as potato gnocchi with prosciutto, artichokes and favas; and braised lamb shank stew with cannellini beans and fennel. A wine and cheese reception is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and guests will be treated to a pre-event tour of the exhibition. Reservations required. Meet Your Local Cheesemaker at Fair Food Farmstand

Meet your maker — cheesemaker, that is — at this monthly sampling of artisanal cheeses and local brews. Debbie and Fred Mikulak of Amazing Acres will be at the Fair Food Farmstand this Friday with a selection of goat's milk cheeses from their Chester County farmstead.
