Mother/daughter team Linda and Norrinda Brown unveiled their latest Brown Betty location — their third, joining spots in NoLibs and Rittenhouse — on Monday. The shop carries cupcakes, 6-inch layer cakes and healthy-option "Nudies," no-sugar-added desserts sweetened with fruit/fruit juice. Customers will be able to phone in pickup orders, too, a feature that their 20th Street storefront is too small to accommodate.
The Cleopatra exhibit at the Franklin Institute now has a nosh-worthy nook to go along with it: Steve Poses, who just debuted his Frog Burger stand on the Franklin's front lawn, is running this "pop-up café" on the museum's second-floor terrace. Poses and chef Abderrazzack Ftouh have developed a menu that's mainly Middle Eastern (baba ganoush, grape leaves, skewers, etc.). They also serve wine and beer, plus thematic cocktails like the "Nefertini" (Absolut Raspberry, Chambord, pomegranate). It's open to museum guests only.
The CP-sponsored A Moveable Feast happy hour, which runs Thursdays from 5 to 7 throughout summer, kicks off tonight at Mac's Tavern (226 Market St.) with Leffe, Stella Artois and Hoegaarden beer specials, plus free apps. The venue changes weekly; check citypaper.net/moveablefeast for the latest.
The Powelton Village location of Green Line Café (3649 Lancaster Ave.) will hold its grand reopening tomorrow, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. Free coffee, food and music.
