 Fri., June 25, 4-6 p.m.
"Meet Your Local Cheesemaker" continues this month at Reading Terminal Market’s Fair Food Farmstand. Don’t miss Friday’s tasting, which will feature Keswick Creamery Tommes washed with the dregs of brews by Troegs. A selection of Keswick's other Jersey cow's-milk cheeses will be available to taste, as well. Fair Food Farmstand at Reading Terminal Market, 12th and Arch streets, 215-922-2317, readingterminalmarket.org.

"Fish Without Fear" Cooking Class at La Cucina at the Market
Sat., June 26, 5:45-7:45 p.m., $60
You got over your childhood fear of eating fish — so why are you still uncomfortable cooking a simple filet of salmon at home? If you’re like many people, it’s probably just that you never were taught how. Fill in the gaps in your knowledge (and confidence) at La Cucina’s hands-on cooking class. From buying fish to plating it, you’ll learn everything you need to know. La Cucina at the Market, Reading Terminal Market, 12th and Arch streets, 215-922-1170, lacucinaatthemarket.com.

 Northern Liberties Food Tour
Sun., June 27, 1:30-4 p.m., $36
Find out what all the buzz is about on this Gershman Y-led walking tour through one of Philly’s hottest foodie destinations. Stops include a neighborhood soul food joint, an Italian restaurant specializing in handmade pasta and the flagship location of Philly’s "ultimate cheesecake bakery." Between bites, an enthusiastic guide will point out sites of interest, recount the history of the area and discuss the transformation of the one-time industrial district into the vibrant community it is today. The Gershman Y, 401 S. Broad St., 215-545-4400, gershmany.org.

Dining al Fresco at the Farm
Sun., June 27, 2 p.m. tour and 4 p.m. dinner, $125
"Farm-to-table" loses some of its meaning when farm and table are separated by, say, the New Jersey turnpike. Get out of the city this Sunday and let White Dog and Fair Food show you what it's all about. Following a tour of Two Gander Farm and Apiary, White Dog chef Eric Yost will serve a six-course tasting dinner in the horse paddock at Fox Hollow Farm. Courses will be accompanied by a selection of American wines, and guests will have a chance to talk to local farmers during the meal. For reservations, call 215-386-9224 (tour and dinner) or 215-386-5211 (tour only). Two Gander Farm and Apiary, 92 Covered Bridge Road, Oley; Fox Hollow Farm, 17 Salaneck Road, Douglasville (transportation not provided).

Down the Shore Dinner at Zahav
Thu., July 1, 5-11 p.m., $25
You like a good bowl of vichyssoise as much as the next person, but "summer food" will always be the stuff you got on the boardwalk as a kid. Fill up on hot dogs, fried clams and all your other favorites at Zahav’s kick-off to the Fourth of July weekend. Nine of Philly’s top chefs (Fork's Terence Feury, Percy Street's Erin O’Shea and others) will cook, and — if you weren’t already scrambling into your cut-offs — a Journey cover band will go on at 8. Advance tickets required. Zahav, 237 St. James Place, 215-625-8800, zahavrestaurant.com.
