The Flyers lost in a nail-biter and the Phillies aren't doin' so hot, but 2010 may be Philly's year yet. The 26th annual ComedySportz World Championship, an Olympic-style improv competition, has found its way to our city for the first time. During the three-day extravaganza, ComedySportz teams from around the globe will square off head-to-head. The winner of the championship match will receive the glorious "meaningless cup." "It's competitive," says managing director Alli Soowal, "but we all just want to put on a good show." If you can't make it to all six shows, show some support for the home team by hitting up the "Revolutionary Rematch" (U.K. vs. Philly), which kicks off the festivities at 7 p.m. on Thursday, or the All-Star Match (East vs. West) on Friday at 9:30 p.m.
Thu.-Sat., July 15-17, 7 and 9:30 p.m., $18-$100, World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St., 215-222-1400, comedysportzphilly.com.
