It's been exactly a year since the 2007 AmIdol champion (and noted cutie-pie) released her last album, Battlefield, and nearly that long since she's had a single (the awesomely bombastic title track) in the charts. But she's only now getting around to a headlining tour, a deferment that may explain why she'll be gracing us at the relatively cozy TLA. While massive, moody, melodramatic ballads are Sparks' typical métier (unsurprisingly, she's making her Broadway debut in August), she's also proven herself adept at spunkier diva-R&B and the occasional Gaga-style dance jam.
