There's nothing to lift you out of a depression — economic or otherwise — like Vintage Muse's World War II-themed shindig Life During Wartime. Founded by Rachel Riot and Moore graduate Thérèse Lavery, Vintage Muse's quest is to create costume parties, taking inspiration from historical events and encouraging more dress-up among Philadelphians. The event features performances by jazz band Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society and swingers Ang & the Damn Band. This little speakeasy will also include a couple of burlesque dancers for a true '20s/'30s vibe. Costumes aren't required, but will be rewarded with a discounted entrance price (not to mention it's way more fun).
