Zero score and 10 years ago a host of young protesters attempted to thwart, or at least be a thorn in the side of, the not-yet-elected Dubya and the 2000 Republican National Convention. To aid the protesters and their new "landscape," the Independent Media Center, a grassroots news organization, was established. Now, PhillyIMC celebrates their right to party with an extravaganza marking its 10-year anniversary. Performance space LAVA hosts an art exhibit — complete with pictures, articles, political puppets, fliers and other artifacts from the 2000 protest. But the political party really gets started on Saturday with a documentary screening, speakers sharing stories of change and a DJ dance party.

A historic birth the phillyimc has changed my life for the better. I have become better informed and allowed to express my views.
Happy Birthday Phillyimc
