There are few things as contentious and exciting as change — especially when it comes to those bastions of tradition we call neighborhoods. It's such a rich topic that nonprofit COSACOSA art at large Inc. has made it the focus of its 20th anniversary cultural initiative, Change in the Making. The project has 20 artists in 20 communities — in Philadelphia and abroad — collecting visuals and interviews to share stories of local change dealing with everything from gentrification to health. Changing Places, an interdisciplinary dance piece choreographed by Adaobi Kanu, is an offshoot of the initiative — interpreting stories from 10 participating Philly neighborhoods through dance, visual art and text.
