Back in 2007, Live Arts/Fringe presented Brian Osborne's The Word. And The Word was good. The Philadelphia scribe/performance artist took the true story of fire-and-brimstone preacher Marjoe Gortner and gave it dippy '70s flair, curly-cue mop-top included. But Osborne and his Elastic Theater Co. went (and presumably still goes) beyond mere tent-revival imitation in order to confront his own holy ghosts. For this go-round of The Word: A House Party for Jesus, New Paradise Lab's Whit McLaughlin directs — in a tent, outdoors — with Rob Kaplowitz (FELA!) designing sound. Hallelujah.
