Not unlike the Brandywine River Museum's summer 2010 study of portraits and their subjects, PAFA looks lovingly at the complexity of how an artist sees himself. Yet "Narcissus in the Studio" — along with showing off old-guard show-offs like William Sidney Mount and George Grosz — turns self-fascination inward with the inclusion of local portrait artists.
