Good Dog Seventh Anniversary Party

Good Dog is celebrating its seventh anniversary (that's 49 in dog years!) with a day to remember. Featuring nearly 15 new beers (to be to be tapped and revealed day-of), the bar will also offer special hors d’oeuvres along with its regular menu. The winners of the annual dog photo contest will be revealed, and the night will also include games and raffles; prizes will include bottles of wine, cases of beer and other goodies. South Philly Food Co-op Fundraiser at South Philadelphia Tap Room
Tue., Dec. 7, 7-10 p.m., suggested donation of $10
The South Philly Food Co-Op has been working tirelessly for more than a year to bring a food co-op to the 'hood. Join the cause by drinking beer and eating delicious food with other like-minded folks. The entrance fee not only helps the co-op’s cause, but gets you a bracelet and door prize ticket. SPTR will host the evening, featuring half-price drafts (happy hour prices will be extended for those wearing bracelets), plus locally sourced food specials created by chef Scott Schroeder. MangoMoon Chef in Residence featuring Haruo Ige
Preview party Wed., Dec. 8, 6:30-9:30 p.m., $35; menu available through the end of December
MangoMoon chef/owner Moon Krapugthong will share her kitchen with Japanese chef Haruo Ige for the first installment in her "Chef in Residence" series. The Manayunk eatery will explore the everyday foods of Ige's home city of Okinawa throughout the month of December, with twists on sushi and other traditional dishes. Join the chefs on Dec. 8 for a preview party launching the menu; the evening will also feature a presentation by Krapugthong and Ige highlighting the differences between the Japanese and Thai cuisines. Dos Holiday Roast at Cantina Dos Segundos
Wed., Dec. 8, 5 p.m., pay as you go
NoLibs' Cantina Dos Segundos plays host to Don Julio tequila for this event, part of the restaurant's ongoing "25 Days of Tequila" series. A rep from Don Julio will be on hand at Dos, pouring the distillery's Blanco, Reposado and Anejo to pair up with agave-friendly Mexican food specials from sous chef Neal Mayton.
