Since the dawn of the computer age, typewriters have been left to collect dust in prop warehouses or on cluttered thrift-store shelves, but this week they're making a comeback at the first-ever Manual Type-In. Along with a showcase of vintage typewriters, the event offers a chance for attendees to type holiday greeting cards, show off their skills in a typing competition, and consult with an experienced technician about proper upkeep. If you've got a working typewriter, bring it to sell, trade or display to other regressive-minded enthusiasts. And if you happen to have a working Hansen writing ball, you're going to make a lot of new friends. Ding!
