Han Dynasty at Amis Industry Night

Szechuan maestro Han Chiang of Old City's Han Dynasty (108 Chestnut St.) will be firing up March's Industry Night at Amis, showcasing dishes like tea-smoked duck, dan dan noodles and an intriguing stew composed of pork blood and pork intestines for the crowd of ravenous restaurant workers. The food is free, but pay your way for drinks; brandish a restaurant or bar pay stub for admission.

Fishtown Neighbors Association Chili Cook-Off

It's a true-blue Fishtown gathering at Feast Your Eyes catering this weekend, as restaurants and chili enthusiasts get together to compete for best-of prizes. Fishtown spots such as Kraftwork, Johnny Brenda's, Brindle Café and the Lola Bean will duke it out for the Best Restaurant prize, while Fishtown residents/amateur chefs battle in the Best Homemade category. Saint Benjamin Brewing Co. and Philadelphia Brewing Co. are donating beer.

Pizza Class at Osteria
Tue., March 8, 6:30 p.m., $175
Spend some quality time in Marc Vetri and Jeff Michaud's North Broad Street kitchen at Osteria, where the James Beard award-winners will divulge secrets from the pizza-making vault for a truly hands-on cooking class. Students will learn dough recipes and handling techniques while discussing the methodology behind sourcing ingredients and choosing toppings. A Q&A session will be held over dessert. If you can't make this session, there will be another pizza class on March 22 and pasta-making ones on March 15 and 29.

Villa Calcinaia Wine Dinner at Davio's

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse will be uncorking an array of classic Tuscan wines from centuries-old Villa Calcinaia, paired with four courses of regional dishes. Eats will include duck Bolognese over pappardelle; Taylor Bay scallop cioppino; and rack of venison with white beans and kale.
