The winner of City Paper’s canary-naming contest

READY FOR ACTION

After days hours minutes of hand-wringing deliberation, associate editor Monica Weymouth has settled on a name for her Fringe refugee/new CP mascot canary: BATMAN. The name was submitted by none other than CP designer Alyssa Grenning (of Friday Fill-in fame). Our fake, non-existent contest bylaws state that City Paper employees are ineligible for prizes, so unfortunately, Grenning will be unable to accept the DVD copy of Cyborg Soldier that goes along with naming the bird. She is very heartbroken.

That being said, I want to offer Cyborg Soldier, which is a futuristic action flick starring Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, to runner-up Bob, who chimed in with this somewhat topical gem:

You got it, Bob. E-mail drew.lazor[at]citypaper[dot]net with a verification of your IP address and Cyborg Soldier is all yours.
