Last week, Doron Taussig and Mike Newall took you to Coatesville to provide a look into the lives of people who've been devastated by a series of inexplicable arsons. Today we learn that authorities have taken someone into custody in connection with the crime spree. Via Inky/philly.com:
A 19-year-old Downingtown man has been arrested and charged with setting nine of the 23 arsons that have terrorized the Coatesville area this year, the Coatesville Arson Task Force announced today.
Roger Leon Barlow Jr., of the 200 block of W. Pennsylvania Avenue, was charged today. Among the fires he is accused of setting is one that destroyed 15 homes Jan. 24 in the 300 block of Fleetwood Street.
Coatesville police are holding a press conference at 5 p.m. today to release further details on 19-year-old Barlow's arrest, including whether or not he is the sole suspect in the case.
