Bar Ferdinand will be celebrating its second anniversary in style: As if Flamenco dancers, drink specials and free paella until midnight weren't big enough draws, there'll also be three different sangria blends on offer (we recommend the sparkling variety made with Cava). For a dose of Philadelphia-area history that doesn't involve the Constitution Center, head out to this fundraiser at the Speaker's House in nearby Trappe. Local favorite Satchmo's Sandwich Shop will be providing Cajun-style pulled pork sandwiches, and you can also nosh on watermelon, chips and homemade brownies and cookies. After snacking, tour the home of the first Speaker of the House, Frederick Muhlenberg (a more exciting fellow than you may think: Dude got stabbed by his brother-in-law!). The much-heralded Memphis Taproom has decided to unleash a different firkin — that's 11 gallons of cask ale served at room temperature — every Saturday from here to eternity. They'll begin with a Scottish session ale straight from Iron Hill Brewery's West Chester location. Get there early, as the event ends once the firkin's drained. In honor of Philadelphia's Buy Fresh, Buy Local Week, 10 area restaurants and 10 local breweries will provide you with food and drink beneath the Headhouse Shambles.
